Who says pig is naive

It was a dark night. There was a sound of wolf howling from the north, but I didn’t run into the house; I laid my back on the lounge in the front yard.

The crow flew to perch on a branch of the tree in front of my house. She looked at me then looked at the direction where the howling sound appeared, back and forth.

“Are you not afraid?” Crow said. “The wolf is coming to you.”

“Let it come,” I said.

The howling sound was nearer and nearer. I still sat in the lounge with no fear on my face. Then the howling stopped.

The crow flew, then she came back and said, “The wolf came but he left. He saw you got a dog. I think he will not come back for a quite long period.”

“Oh,” I said.

“Where do you get the dog? I think it is big or its house would not be huge and tall like this,” the crow said.

I didn't say a word but gave a smile to her. I took a cup of warm water to drink. My eyes were looking at the glow of fireflies in the jungle before my house.

Actually there was no dog. It was an empty dog’s house I took from the house of a human who I had worked for many years ago.
